About Transcendit

Meet the people behind the team

Director

dick-davies3

Dick Davies

Director

Dick is one of the famous five, having formed Transcendit with the other Directors of the company. He was originally a Southerner, having been born just North of London, but now living happily in Northumberland with no immediate intention to leave. He is the first of our team to retire, and spends a lot of time travelling all around the country visiting his children and grandchildren, who are now all grown up.

His favourite things in the world are cooking Indian food, spending time with his family, and playing Bridge with the Morpeth Bridge club and his wife. In his spare time he also likes to stargaze and garden, though not necessarily at the same time.

Managing Director

adam-kuznesof3

Adam Kuznesof

Managing Director

Adam formed Transcendit with the other Directors in 2000, and somehow looks exactly the same as he did then. He was born in San Francisco, lived in Brazil and all around the U.S. before moving to the UK in 1993, because he married a Geordie. He has been working in IT since 1990, and specialises in mapping business processes to technology.

Adam now resides in Northumberland, and says its the most friendly and beautiful place he’s ever lived. In his spare time enjoys reading, walking his dog along the Tyne and talking with his cat, who meows at him until he says hello to her. He also enjoys board games, although he is routinely bested by his kids.

Director

tom-tinsley3

Tom Tinsley

Director

Tom is one of our five Directors and founders. He was born in Liverpool, but lived in various places before settling in Newcastle in 1990 – mainly because his wife is a Geordie. He definitely made the right choice as he loves living in the North East, mainly because of the fantastic countryside, beautiful coastline and the friendly northerners.

Now retired, Tom worked in IT for over 40 years from leaving university in 1978, and has a broad background in all things IT.

He likes to get outside and keep active, and retirement has given him more time to do this. As well as a weekly game of badminton, he still gets out running and is an active member of Claremont Road Runners. When indoors, he can be found doing crosswords, puzzles and watching Liverpool FC on television.

He also likes travelling and spending time with his family.

Director

dave-scott3

Dave Scott

Director

Dave formed Transcendit with Adam, Tom, Dick and Lee in September 2000. He is from, and lives in Low Fell, Gateshead. He has been working in IT since he left school in 1989. He has an HNC in Computer Studies and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. Dave also has a whole host of other IT-related certifications that are too numerous to mention.

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and socialising with his friends over a few beers. Dave likes to keep fit, and is into circuit and resistance training as well as squash. He says that he can’t do anything particularly cool or interesting anymore because he is middle aged. However, he is enjoying learning bass guitar, something that was born from his mid-life crisis. He is also a season ticket holder for Newcastle United.

We are about to begin a large project moving our main server room, Dave has helped us every inch of the way coordinating not only with our IT Department but working with other sub-contractors to get the best possible outcome for York Minster.

Dave is very professional and business like in his approach to any project we have at the Minster whether large or small.

Paul Greene, Superintendent of Works, York Minster

Director

lee-irving3

Lee Irving

Director

Lee formed Transcendit with the other Directors back in the day when he had a lot more hair. He was born and bred in Newcastle, and says that he’ll probably die here as well – as although the idea of living elsewhere appeals Newcastle will always be home. He has been working in IT since he was 17, and is an expert in Systems Integration, Internet Solutions and pretty much anything IT related that he sets his mind to.

He loves politics, is a basic income advocate as well as treasurer for the Newcastle Green Party. He stands as the Green Party candidate for Benwell and Scotswood and will only need an additional 2,572 votes to win next time. He enjoys going on holiday with his wife, and has been to New York, Hawaii, Cuba and a host of other locations which are too long to list.

Lee has the patience of a saint

Business Support Director

helen-littlewood3

Helen Littlewood

Business Support Director

Helen has been working in IT since 2002, in a number of different roles from IT support to purchasing. She sees herself as “Transcendit’s catalyst” and enjoys doing lots of different things for the business. Helen’s main priority is ensuring the smooth running of projects and support tasks, although keeping the rest of us organised occasionally intrudes on this.

In her spare time, Helen is a bit of a pool hustler. She previously played for the England team in numerous competitions and has many trophies and titles including Home Nations, European and World Championship team titles.

Helen Littlewood was just fantastic and helped in every way she could…10 out of 10, both in manner and expertise

Support Team Manager

Dave Kennedy

Support Team Manager

Dave has worked in IT since 1996, and actually received his first position in the industry from now-Director Adam Kuznesof. He has a degree in Computer Science from Stirling University, a sundry of Microsoft and a plethora of other industrial qualifications.

When he’s not got his head down in IT support, Dave enjoys hiking and is a keen amateur photographer. He spends a lot of time training his multi-talented dog, who has starred in various films and television roles. Dave also enjoys reading, blogging and re-blogging anything related to technology with a particular passion for the Lenovo ThinkPad Brand.

Fab service from Dave Kennedy again!

Paula Rosenberg, Signature

Support Operations Manager

dave-park3

Dave Park

Support Operations Manager

Dave is our support operations manager at Transcendit, although he frequently reminds us that the title on his contract is “IT Specialist” – which, “just sounds better”. He has worked in IT since 1998, and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Architect.

Outside of work, Dave has a multitude of hobbies, such as riding motorbikes, paintball and playing squash. His wife says he goes through multiple mid-life crises, but he claims he just gets bored very easily. Dave is also an avid football fan and supports “the only team worth following” – Newcastle United.

Great service, Dave Park excellent as always.

Ollie Brown, A1 Engineering Solutions Ltd

Project Operations Manager

gareth-robson3

Gareth Robson

Project Operations Manager

Gareth started to become curious about IT in secondary school, and began tinkering around with his own computer. After taking it apart and putting it back together a few times, he started an apprenticeship in IT at a nearby school. He did this for 5 years until he decided that working with children wasn’t really his thing.

In his spare time he enjoys spending quality family time with his wife and 2 little girls, Phoebe and Emily. When he can get an hour to himself, he enjoys PC gaming and going to football matches to support Newcastle United.

Thank you Gareth for your prompt attention and patient sympathetic approach bearing in mind I’m not the best in understanding the technical terms, much appreciated.

Lynne Taylor, Delcor

Support Engineer

alan-common3

Alan Common

Support Engineer

Alan joined the support team at Transcendit in 2004, after six years of managing the IT systems for a chain of eleven hotels. He has moved up and down the country since he was 19, but returned to Newcastle to go to University. Alan has a degree in Business Information Technology, and is a Microsoft Certified Professional.

Outside of the Gateshead office, Alan enjoys a fine malt whisky and a game of golf – although to our knowledge he doesn’t do both at the same time. He also likes to visit different parts of the UK, particularly anywhere with a zoo or a wildlife park.

Alan Common is always brilliant and so patient

Katie Stewart

Support Engineer

Paul Kennedy

Support Engineer

Paul has been messing about with computers since he was first in school, and has been working in IT since 2001. He has studied at Coventry and Northumbria University, has a first class honours degree in Computer Network Technology and is a fully qualified Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator.

When he isn’t hunched over a keyboard at work, you might find Paul gaming on his PC at home, or his PS4. He also enjoys a game of pool down his local, attending various music festivals in the area and socialising with his friends.

I do not think there is an IT problem that Paul Kennedy cannot fix.

Dorothy Graham, Qubic Tax Ltd

Web Developer

paul-callaghan3

Paul Callaghan

Web Developer

Paul is a Rails developer, with specialities in database performance and interesting algorithms. Before joining Transcendit in 2010, he spent 10 years as a university lecturer, opting to try a different path after teaching an MSc course on Rails and realising it really was more fun outside of academia. Paul also has a Ph.D. in “something artificial intelligence-y”, and dates his interests back to programmable calculators at the start of the 1980s(!)

Paul’s current vice is playing Mahjong, especially the Japanese version of it, citing how it is a fast-paced mix of poker and rummy that requires a fair amount of skill and an element of luck. Don’t ever ask him about the solitaire game with piles of tiles – that’s a completely different thing, and nothing to do with real Mahjong!

Support Engineer

philip-preece3

Philip Preece

Support Engineer

Philip has worked in IT support since 2004, and has extensive knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and troubleshooting hardware. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional, and also has a BA Hons in Graphic Design that we aren’t supposed to ask about.

Philip is “Transcendit’s token Mackem” but claims he is coping well with life among the Geordies. Outside of work, Philip spends the majority of his spare time at the cinema or watching the latest releases at home with a chilled pint. He has plans to start his tropical fish and reef aquarium again, but is currently too busy looking after his “flock” of children.

Phil and the other guys at Transcendit always provide a first class service. Many thanks

Chris Nelson, The Chapter of York

david-wong3

David Wong

Support Engineer

David has worked in IT for 14 years, and is pretty sure that if he works in it long enough he’ll start enjoying it. He has a BSc in Business Information Systems, is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, System Administrator, Technology Specialist and Professional as well as a VMware Certified Professional.

In his spare time, David enjoys gaming and can get 6 kill streaks in Destiny, and claims to have convinced the majority of the Gateshead office support team to buy a Playstation 4. He also loves movies, particularly Groundhog Day which he says is the greatest comedy film of all time.

Very happy, David helped me through the entire process.

Scott Dewing

Support Engineer

Scott joined Transcendit in June of 2014 after leaving school, which he says he didn’t like. He studied IT, electronics and biology, before abandoning the latter two and starting here as an apprentice. He has now finished his apprenticeship and holds an Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms, and is keen to carry on training.

Scott likes football, and he has supported Newcastle United since childhood. He also enjoys Formula 1 and finds the weekends without it quite boring.

Quick and efficient. Thanks Scott!

diane-pharoah3

Diane Pharoah

Account associate

Diane works at Transcendit as an accounts associate. She has earned the nickname “Spreadsheet Sally” thanks to her obsession with organising and planning with her trusty Excel documents.

Diane is a “born geek”, having spent a large amount of her childhood taking plugs apart – which she interprets as a sign that she was always meant to work for Transcendit

In her spare time, Diane spends time with her hubby, mostly freezing on the sidelines of a football field watching her son, Ollie, who Transcendit proudly sponsors in one of his 3 teams! She enjoys walks with her crazy cockapoo, Roman, who is named after her sons favourite wrestler, Roman Reins. She also loves pub grub, but hates noisy eaters

Random fact about Diane – She is the younger sister of Transcendit’s long serving employee, Helen Littlewood.

Lyndsey has worked in IT since 2010, and has a degree in New Media from Leeds University. She is originally from Middlesbrough, but now lives in Peterlee with her husband Alick. She learnt to code from an early age, and hasn’t been able to drag herself away from her computer since.

Lyndsey is an avid board game fan, and at lunchtime can often be found teaching Sushi Go! or Galaxy Trucker to the rest of the Gateshead office. Outside of work, Lyndsey enjoys sewing quilts and bags, gaming, and watching Formula 1. She also spends time looking after her cats, Kitler and Ferris.

stephen-brazier3

Stephen Brazier

Web Developer

Stephen is originally from Teesside and now lives in Whitley Bay, having joined Transcendit in 2017. Stephen used to be a research Postdoctoral fellow, investigating neurodegenerative diseases using stem cells. After using computer programs to mine data, he developed an interest in coding. Stephen graduated from the Open University with a First in Computing, and after looking after his kids for a couple of years he started his career in IT.

When he’s not programming, Stephen likes reading, particularly history and sci-fi. He loves playing video games, his favourite being X-Com, and board games, his least favourite being the Game of Life (which his daughter loves). He used to enjoy long hikes, but has got used to doing shorter, more child-friendly walks in the Lake District, Cornwall and Scotland.

Business Support Associate

kate-johnson3

Kate Bellshaw

Business Support Associate

Kate joined Transcendit in June 2018 on placement, whilst studying IT Management for Business with Northumbria University. Since graduating, she has joined the team full time as our Business Support Associate. Kate says she was never one for pulling computers apart, but a great teacher at her secondary school taught her to love IT – she has found it easy to understand ever since.

In her spare time, Kate loves spending time with her friends and family. She likes to visit the theatre with her Mum; the best production they’ve seen to date was The Play That Goes Wrong. Kate also enjoys make up artistry, and cocktail making – although she likes cocktail drinking a lot more. Her greatest achievement to date is being named Victrix Lodorum at Sports Day when she was 17, for her skill in the high jump, hurdles and shot putt.

Aaron Fraser

Support Engineer

Aaron joined Transcendit in 2023 fresh out of Sixth Form. With a keen interest in technology and enthusiasm for learning new skills it was a natural progression to get a job on the support team at Transcendit.

Outside of work, Aaron enjoys gaming, keeping up with the latest tech trends, and spending time with friends and family. Always eager to expand his skills, Aaron is excited to see where his journey with Transcendit takes him.

Katherine also enjoys being with her teenage daughter, even though she spends a large amount of this time attempting to keep up with her predictably hectic social life.
